Product Introduction
Product Overview
This product is a solid brass hex bolt manufactured from H62 brass (also designated CuZn38 / C27400), a high-quality copper-zinc alloy containing approximately 62% copper and 38% zinc. The bolts conform to DIN 933 (fully threaded) and DIN 931 (partially threaded) standards, and are available in sizes ranging from M3 to M16 (with M20 and larger available upon request).
H62 brass offers an exceptional combination of electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, non-magnetic properties, and excellent machinability, making these bolts ideal for electrical equipment, marine hardware, precision instruments, and decorative applications where a steel or stainless steel fastener would be unsuitable.

H62 is a single-phase α+β brass known for its excellent combination of strength and ductility. Its high copper content provides superior corrosion resistance compared to lower-grade brasses, while its zinc content ensures good mechanical strength and cost-effectiveness.
Mechanical & Electrical Performance
Mechanical Properties:
H62 brass achieves a tensile strength of 330–600 MPa depending on the temper (soft, semi-hard, or hard condition), with typical values of 430 MPa in semi-hard state and 340–440 MPa in annealed condition.
The material exhibits excellent cold and hot working performance, allowing for precision forging, rolling, and machining.
Hardness typically ranges from 90 to 130 HV, providing good resistance to wear and deformation in clamping applications.
Electrical Properties:
H62 brass provides electrical conductivity of approximately 28% IACS — about seven times that of ordinary carbon steel — making it a preferred material for grounding systems, electrical terminals, and conductive connections.
Ground loop impedance with brass bolts is approximately 62% lower than steel bolts, ensuring reliable low-resistance connections for lightning protection and electrical grounding applications.
Non-magnetic: Suitable for use in sensitive instruments, medical equipment, and applications where magnetic interference must be avoided.
Corrosion Resistance:
Brass fasteners offer excellent resistance to rust and atmospheric corrosion, with inherent resistance to "season cracking" in damp or outdoor environments.
The high copper content provides good resistance to seawater and marine atmospheres, making brass bolts suitable for marine instrumentation, boat fittings, and coastal applications.

Applications
H62 brass hex bolts are widely used across industries where conductivity, corrosion resistance, and non-magnetic properties are critical:
Electrical & Electronic Equipment — Grounding terminals, electrical panels, terminal blocks, busbar connections, and PCBA mounting. Brass bolts are commonly used by electrical and communications industries for their excellent conductivity and reliable performance in sensitive components.
Marine & Offshore — Boat fittings, dock hardware, marine instrumentation, and seawater-exposed assemblies where resistance to saltwater corrosion is essential.
Precision Instruments — Medical devices, test equipment, and optical instruments requiring non-magnetic fasteners to avoid interference with sensitive components.
Plumbing & Sanitaryware — Decorative and functional fastening in faucets, valves, and bathroom fittings where corrosion resistance and aesthetic appearance are required.
Architectural & Decorative — Exposed fastening in architectural metalwork, signage, and decorative hardware where the natural golden appearance of brass is desired.
Automotive & Aerospace — Non-magnetic and corrosion-resistant fastening in electrical systems, sensors, and instrumentation.
Grounding & Lightning Protection — Earthling clamps, grounding lugs, and bonding jumpers. Brass grounding hardware ensures low-resistance connections and prevents high-impedance heating points at grounding nodes, meeting the requirements of lightning protection and electrical grounding systems.
Surface Finish Options
Finish Appearance Corrosion Resistance Recommended Application
Plain (Natural Brass) Golden yellow Good Electrical, decorative, general purpose
Nickel Plated Silver-white Excellent Marine, chemical, enhanced corrosion resistance
Polished Bright golden Good Decorative, architectural, exposed applications
Nickel plating further enhances corrosion resistance and provides a bright, decorative appearance, making nickel-plated brass bolts suitable for high and low voltage equipment and conductive parts.
